The round table brainstorming session. 20/6/22

I hosted an artists talk and an afternoon of brainstorming around my project. There was a really good turn out and some interesting ideas thrown on to the table.

I was particularly interested in the discussions around gold and why there is so much romance around it. I love the poem by Robert W Service as I feel that it gives us an understanding of this sense of ' gold fever'

“There’s gold, and it’s haunting and haunting; It’s luring me on as of old; Yet it isn’t the gold that I’m wanting So much as just finding the gold. It’s the great, big, broad land ’way up yonder, It’s the forests where silence has lease; It’s the beauty that thrills me with wonder, It’s the stillness that fills me with peace.”

Another interesting idea that came up was this idea that we dont really know how to dispose of e waste correctly. I feel that in this there is another interesting space to be creative, prehaps in the writing a piece of music, dance or set of instructions on how to dispose of it.

I hope to follow up this session with visiting some of the attendees on a more one to one level in their specialised workplaces .
