Dokra- wax work. 28/10/22

The technique used is lost wax. This means that the item being cast must first be made in wax. In the case of the Dokra they work with incredibly thin wax strands which are made in by forcing the sun warmed wax through a press that was built in to a little stool and operated by pushing down hard with your foot. You cans the worms of wax which are used to build all the sculptures that they make. I love looking at different tools designed so specifically for different jobs and needs.
