For the electro plating I need an anode Which through an electrical current will deposit a thin layer of material on to the object I am electroplating… the art work.
I thought it would be Interesting if I made my own anodes, which could potentially be sculptural. These will also be made of copper I source from ewaste that is melted down and re cast.
I have been doing my own tests to make these anodes with my little jewellery furnace with the idea of upscaling. I did very little tests in to green sand and cuttle fish bone ,using some copper I took out of wires my self and some that N2s gave me.
I would like to work on learning more about ceramic shell as a mould making possibility . It will be interesting to use the Dare funding to explore setting this up in a sculptural way to work along side the mobile wax burn out kiln.
